  1. UpperEastSide
  2.  
  3. Upper East Side is a font in an art deco style that works well in both text 
  4. and display applications.  It contains a full set of characters, including 
  5. diacritics, and has 477 kerning pairs.  Zowie!  Upper East Side resembles 
  6. a well-known display font called Parisian, which looks like the work of 
  7. the designer of the typeface Broadway on a GOOD day.  It is called 
  8. UpperEastSide to complement my shareware font UpperWestSide, and because 
  9. I've seen this font all over the East Side, from Book Store signs to menus.

  11. If you also have my font UpperWestSide, FIRST, PAY FOR IT! Second, if you 
  12. have both fonts installed with Adobe Type Reunion Active, you will now have 
  13. an "Upper" item on your menu with a submenu that contains "EastSide" and 
  14. "WestSide."

  16. UpperEastSide is DonateWare.  If you keep it, you are requested (ooh, I HATE 
  17. the passive voice!) to make a tax-deductible contribution to Columbia 
  18. University of at least $9.99, as follows: Make the check payable to Columbia

  20. University, New York, NY 10027.  With your check enclose a postcard of any 
  21. town that isn't your hometown or an old cash register receipt, and write 
  22. on it: "Dear Cynthia: Here's $9.99.  We've seen better weather here, but 
  23. I can't complain.  The guy in the paint store says I have to go now."
